The problem with every other Muslim marriage app

Muzz, Salams, Mawada, every major Muslim marriage platform lets anyone create a profile with nothing more than an email address. Some offer an optional verified badge you can pay for. Most people do not bother.

The result? Fake profiles, catfishing, time-wasters, people who are already married, and, most harmfully, people who present themselves entirely differently in person from how they do online. Every Muslim who has spent time on these apps has a story like this.

This is not a small problem. It is the reason serious Muslims stop using these apps. It is the reason families do not trust them. And it is entirely solvable.

What mandatory verification actually means

When we say everyone on Qaboolify is verified, we mean everyone. Not people who paid for a badge. Not people who chose to verify. Everyone.

Every person you browse in Discover has scanned their government-issued ID, a passport, driving licence, or national ID card, and completed a biometric liveness check. A third-party identity service confirms the ID is genuine and the person holding the phone is the same person in the document.

This means:

• Zero fake profiles. You cannot fake a government ID combined with a live selfie. It is technically impossible.
• No catfishing. Every profile is a real person. The person you are speaking to is who they say they are.
• No married people. Anyone lying about their marital status has put their real identity on record, they know there are consequences.
• No anonymous accounts. Every user is traceable to a real identity. This alone changes behaviour dramatically.

Why this matters for your family and your guardian
