What Is ID Verification?

ID verification confirms that you are who you say you are. The process takes 2–3 minutes on your phone or desktop:

• Scan a government-issued ID (passport, driving licence, or national ID card)
• Complete a short passive liveness check — no special lighting or performance needed
• Our verification partner processes your documents instantly
• Your ✅ ID Verified badge appears on your profile within minutes of approval

The whole process happens on a secure, hosted platform. Qaboolify never stores your identity documents. Over 14,000 ID types from 220+ countries are supported, so virtually any government-issued document works.

What Does the Badge Mean?

When you see a ✅ ID Verified badge on a profile, it means that person has passed a government-ID check and a liveness check. Their face matches their document. They are a real person.

This is categorically different from a self-uploaded selfie. The badge is issued by an independent verification system — not by Qaboolify staff reviewing a photo. It cannot be faked.

Where the Badge Appears

The ✅ ID Verified badge is shown prominently in three places:

• Your profile page — visible to anyone who views your profile
• Discover — shown on profile cards in the browse view
• The Guardian Dashboard — visible to your wali when they review a partner's profile

This last point matters significantly for families. When a wali reviews a potential match, they can immediately see whether the person has been independently verified — adding a layer of trust to the decision-making process.

How Much Does It Cost?

ID verification is a one-time £9.99 payment. This covers the cost of running your documents through our third-party verification service — Qaboolify does not profit from it.

Once verified, your ✅ badge stays on your profile permanently. You never pay again. There is no subscription for the badge.

How to Get Verified

Go to Settings > Verification in your Qaboolify account. You'll see the "Get ID Verified — £9.99" button. Clicking it takes you to a Stripe-secured checkout page. Once payment is confirmed, you'll be immediately redirected to complete your document scan and liveness check.

The whole process — payment and verification — takes under 5 minutes. Your badge appears on your profile automatically once approved.

If you close the verification mid-way after paying, you can pick up where you left off — just return to Settings > Verification and click "Continue verification →".

Why This Matters
